Siete Studio builds meaning into matter. Since 2020, founders Alexa Fernández, Gerardo Córdova, and Diego Escobedo have shaped work for daily use, rooted in eternity. It’s a form of artisanship and deep craft — sculpture and function, intertwined. Look no further than their next project, which rethinks soap as ephemeral architecture, each bar becoming what they call “a block of matter that holds light and time.” For Siete, the everyday is eternal.
What do you do when you hit a creative block?
We don’t experience creative block in a traditional sense because we don’t follow a fixed process. Our work grows from whatever is present past collections, current projects, a place we’ve just visited, a texture, a smell. As a team, we share what moves us: music, exhibitions, poems. That exchange keeps the practice in motion. Even in stillness, something always reveals itself.
What’s the last film you saw that moved you deeply?
The Lobster by Yorgos Lanthimos. Because it made us reflect on the meaning of human connection, the structures we build around relationships, and the odd, often revealing ways people behave when confronted with constraint.
What book have you gifted most?
Cosmos by Carl Sagan. We like how it expands perspective, it reminds us of scale, time, and our place within a larger system.
