LS-120 / Lotus table lamp (1968) was designed by Carlo Nason for Murano glassmaker Mazzega as a modular system: blown-glass “petals” stacked around a central stem, each layer diffusing light differently. It fused industrial logic with Venetian glass craft, pulling Murano into the language of postwar modernism. Once sold as adaptable décor for Italy’s new apartments, it’s now chased on the secondary market as one of the rare moments when Murano left ornament behind for system design.
