&quot;Venus favors the bold.&quot; —Ovid  Introducing the Lavender Lion’s Paw Lamp, the second release from the Venus Collection, a whimsical family of handmade fixtures inspired by the Surrealists and natural forms of the sea. Employing the latest advances in cool-to-the-touch LED technology, the collection features table lamps and wall sconces made with hand-selected specimen seashells in place of traditional shades, putting the organic source material behind so much 20th century modernism front and center. Like its orange-hued sister lamp, Model No. 019A also shares a passing resemblance to Audrey II, but requires no care or feeding. Centered on a lavender-tinted cast-concrete base, with an unfinished nickel-plated column, knurled nickel hardware, and dark-brown cloth-covered cord with contrasting khaki inline switch, its shade is constructed from a matching pair of sustainably sourced, naturally translucent, variegated lavender Lion’s Paw scallop shells. Permanently fused open at the scallop&#39;s natural hinge, the shade is fully adjustable on the vertical axis. Perfect as a scene-stealing accent lamp—and even better at one&#39;s bedside, in a pair—its playful silhouette, sophisticated lines, rarefied materials, and inviting light will breathe fresh life into any interior. Horst Tripod Floor Lamp in Two-Tone Chrome with Hand-Painted Pagoda Shade — Model No. 008

Introducing the Wild Kingdom Collection, a scene-stealing set of maximalist art lamps inspired by the majesty of nature. The monumental Big Bambu floor lamp series is a first in several respects: It’s the first series we’ve made using contemporary (i.e. non-vintage) traditional Japanese parasols; the first we’ve made at such an outsized scale (though it does have a forbearer); and the first that required a blowtorch.  The &quot;Blue Cheetah&quot; Big Bambu Floor Lamp consists of a triple-tiered terra cotta-tinted cast-plaster base, a lacquered 1.5” bamboo column with pyrographed cheetah spots, and a cloth-like blue-and-yellow polka-dot rice-paper shade, with terra-cotta-colored lambskin and brown leather accents, made from a contemporary Japanese parasol. The shade, which has been waterproofed with tung oil in the traditional manner, is reassuringly durable and difficult to tear. Unlacquered brass hardware, a green-and-cream houndstooth-cloth-covered cord, and a vintage-style plug complete the modernist vibe. The column is detachable from the base for easy shipping via UPS in three separate boxes. Made-to-order by hand in New York in a signed and numbered edition by artist Christopher Tennant.
