Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cosmos?
Cosmos is a platform for collecting and organizing visual inspiration. Save elements (images, videos, links, notes) into curated clusters to explore themes and ideas with focus and clarity. Use Cosmos across mobile and desktop, with browser and iOS extensions to save references wherever you may find them.

Who is Cosmos for?
Cosmos is for anyone who seeks inspiration. It's a place to collect and curate images, videos, notes, and links. Whether you're a designer, stylist, photographer, artist, or creative director — or simply someone who loves to find and live with beautiful images — Cosmos is built for you.

Use it to save elements, create clusters, explore references, and refine your taste. Keep your work private for research, or share it publicly to showcase your perspective.

What are the core features of Cosmos?
Cosmos is built around profiles, elements, and clusters (curated mood boards).

Save elements — images, videos, links, or notes — from other profiles or clusters, or upload your own; then organize what you've found by project, theme, or mood.

You can:

  • Save inspiration instantly. Capture inspiration from anywhere — on Cosmos, or with the browser and iOS extension — to save images, videos, notes, and links in one click.
  • Organize from the start. Group saved elements into themed clusters — like mood boards — so ideas stay structured and easy to revisit.
  • Smart discovery. Use AI-powered captions and visual search by keyword, color, or visual similarity.
  • Focused exploration. Browse clusters and profiles in a space built for inspiration, not distraction — free of likes, ads, and comments.

Can I upload my own photos to Cosmos?
Yes. Open Create (+) > New element to upload an image, video, or note. Your upload appears as elements on your profile, ready to be organized into clusters. You control visibility — keep work private or share it with the broader Cosmos community.

Where can I find images I've saved from Cosmos?

Your saved images are stored in your device's default download location.

  • iPhone: Saved images appear in your Photos app.
  • Android: Saved images appear in your Files app, usually under Downloads or Images.
  • Desktop: Saved images appear in your Downloads folder, unless you selected a different location.

If you can't find a file, search by name or check your browser's download history.

Can I use saved content for purposes beyond personal inspiration?
Content on Cosmos is user-generated and may be protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. Cosmos does not verify or guarantee that any item is free to use. If you wish to reproduce, publish, or distribute content beyond personal inspiration or reference, you're responsible for obtaining permission directly from the creator or rights holder. See our Terms for more info.

How do I report inaccurate or inappropriate content?
Click the ••• icon on any element and select Report. You can flag content as offensive, spam, violent, inappropriate, or inaccurate. You can also control what you see: in Settings > Content filtering, choose to show, blur, or hide AI-generated, suggestive, or explicit content. Reports are reviewed to help keep Cosmos a safe and creative environment for everyone.

What sets Cosmos apart from platforms like Pinterest?
Cosmos is a focused space to collect and curate visual ideas. It's built for everyday inspiration and deep dives, not noise or social metrics.

Cosmos empowers you to:

  • Evolve your taste. Curate elements into structured clusters, like mood boards, that you can revisit, refine, and build upon, discovering unexpected connections as your taste develops.
  • Discover high quality content, tailored to you. Use visual search and AI captions to find precise, visually similar references by color palette, composition, and theme. The more you explore, the more relevant your results become.
  • Deepen your understanding with context. AI captions reveal each image's creator, source, and theme—helping you trace where an element came from and follow creators' work. You can see how others curate the same element to gain new perspectives.
  • Immerse in a focused creative space. Cosmos is ad‑free and doesn't include likes or comments. You can toggle between light and dark modes while browsing a clean, minimal grid. This creates space for intentional focus, without distraction.
  • Connect with other creative minds. Follow profiles and clusters to peek into others' taste and save their elements. Collaborate on shared clusters, or discover creators who inspire your next rabbit hole.

Is there a way to turn off autoplay for videos or GIFs?
Not yet, but it's a highly requested feature that is already on our radar. Stay tuned.

How does "Not interested" affect my for you feed?
Marking an element as not interested tells Cosmos to show less of that style over time. Your for you feed adapts based on your feedback and activity, and gets better the more you use it.

Can I keep a cluster private?
Yes. Set a cluster to private and it will be visible only to you. Just go to ••• > Edit Cluster, and toggle the Make private switch. If you invite collaborators to a private cluster, they can access it. Otherwise, it stays yours alone.

Do I need Cosmos Premium to use Cosmos?
Cosmos is free to use. Premium is optional and adds advanced capabilities.

  • Free plan. Enjoy all core features at no cost. Save elements, organize clusters, search and discover across the app. Everything you need to find visual inspiration.
  • Premium plan: For $8 per month (or $6 per month when billed annually), unlock the ability to claim a custom username, collaborate on clusters, bulk‑export elements, customize your grid, and get early access to new features.

Where do I manage my subscription or billing info?
Go to Settings > Subscription to view, cancel, upgrade, or manage your billing details.

Note: If you subscribed via the App Store or Google Play, you'll need to manage your plan directly through those platforms.
