Néstor Almendros’ cinematography in Days of Heaven (1978) is legendary. Filming while slowly going blind, he used natural light and golden-hour shots to turn the plains into a painterly, almost otherworldly landscape.

I love all the shots in Stalker of characters looking away from the camera.
