Every 6 months I realize how stupid I was 6 months ago

Pain is the anticipation of another rep. Not the thing itself, but the anxiety that comes before or after it.

I've come across people who say that there is a sort of inborn restlessness in the human spirit and an urge to change one's abode; for man is endowed with a mind which is changeable and unsettled: nowhere at rest, it darts about and directs its thoughts to all places known and unknown, a wanderer which cannot endure repose and delights chiefly in novelty.

Whatever is best for a human being lies outside human control: it can be neither given nor taken away. The world you see, nature's greatest and most glorious creation, and the human mind which gazes and wonders at it, and is the most splendid part of it, these are our own everlasting possessions and will remain with us as long as we ourselves remain.

Everyday, do something obvious, something generous, and something silly. Recipe for a life well lived

What cannot be known hollows the mind. Fill it not with guesswork.

It’s a tragedy that life is taken so seriously. This is a result in the belief that we are limited, we are in danger, and that consciousness comes to an end.

You are the open field of Awareness. Thoughts and beliefs of being limited are just that - fleeting things…

there are times that you know are going to be way more fun to remember than they are to live through.

somehow knowing this helps put the tiredness in perspective.

Praise specifically, criticize generally.

Life has ~600,000 hours in it. Use each hour well. The ride will be over before you know it.

It doesn't bother you that you weigh only x or y pounds and not three hundred. Why should it bother you that you have only x or y years to live and not more? You accept the limits placed on your body. Accept those placed on your time.

Everyone wants to succeed immediately and without pain or effort. Bad advice is everywhere. Build a following. Establish a platform. Learn how to scam the system. In other words, do all the surface stuff and none of the real work it takes to actually produce something of value. The disease of our times is that we live on the surface. We're like the Platte River, a mile wide and an inch deep. Real work and real satisfaction come from the opposite of what the web provides. They come from going deep into something—the book you're writing, the album, the movie—and staying there for a long, long time.

Not collecting, that is the ultimate gathering.

Life is too short to worry about little things. Have fun. Fall in love. Regret nothing, and don't let people bring you down. Study, think, create, and grow. Teach yourself and teach others.

Anxiety is a sign that you haven’t fully made sense of something in the past. Because the only way that the future can feel threatening is if you’re afraid that something you know you can’t handle is going to happen again. Memories that haven’t been fully processed will linger:

A bunch of my friends have gotten REALLY into therapy. Which is cool. 

The upside, they become really self aware. (of past traumas, shortcomings etc.) 

The downside, they become "too" self aware. 

Self awareness kills your self delusion. And self delusion is a powerful tool

Looking back at past struggle with fondness, while looking ahead to future potential with apprehension

Letting a few bright memories make you believe the bad times were actually good, while letting a few dark moments make you believe the good times are actually bad

Life got way chiller once I stopped conceptualizing it as some grand story and instead as just a participant in the cosmic chaos just tryna have a good time

But now is the shortest moment of our life. It's gone in an instant, the longest moments of our life are our memories and our imaginations.

**Rule of 3 in conversation.**

To get to the real reason, ask a person to go deeper than what they just said. Then again, and once more. The third time’s answer is close to the truth.

Less activity, more insight. 

Insight is the smallest unit of truth that is actionable.

The process when I design, I become like a three year old. I have to go to my gut. I have to forget everything I know and really focus into what I feel

The surface area of opportunity is so wide. Act now.
