Branch Museum — MullenLowe Design Studio

COLLINS partnered with OFFF to redefine itself as a powerful, magnetic force, a “center of gravity” for the creative world. Inspired by the physics of magnetism, the new identity system leverages two dynamic forces: Attraction and Projection.  Attraction draws all elements together, reflecting OFFF’s role as a gathering point for creative minds. The motion starts slowly, accelerating with increasing intensity—like a powerful, irresistible energy.  Projection drives elements outward, pushing ideas, conversations and influence far beyond OFFF’s physical boundaries and out into the world. The expanding movement mimics the explosive power of imaginative, artistic breakthroughs, shaping a visual rhythm of expansion and impact.  The new OFFF logo itself embodies this magnetic concept. Each letter is drawn inward, forming a tightly unified, anchoring wordmark. This structure allows their logo to function as centering, magnetic energy—drawing in images, text, video and content, reinforcing OFFF’s role as a creative hub.

An all-encompassing visual play on the power of together. The layers allowed us to bring to life Pride’s signature colour palette, yet intertwine the diversity we stand for. It’s no surprise that the weave takes centre stage across all our creative and leads the Identity Design.

We made this TOGETHER. Adapting well across all touchpoints, we created a Toolkit for creatives for the pride community to create Pride assets across various events and channels. Going beyond just website and digital, with signage across flags and stage videos, OOH and magazine print ads.

We devised a powerful and engaging framework for visuals: bold, expressive typography; a primary colour palette dominated by black and red; Journey Data visuals resembling a futuristic, Ul-inspired textural layer; and Empyrean Shapes – graphic icons inspired by LoL lore. We created a rich and immersive motion language; at its core, The Aberration – a graphic interpretation of the Unknown that can be slow and ominous, sporadic and reactive, or more linear and up tempo, depending on the application’s requirements. Organic and spectral, The Aberration provides a consistent thread throughout the visual identity. Along with The Aberration, we also modelled and animated our first LoL champion, Nocturne.

The studio’s process, as showcased in their other works, begins with minimalism – stripping a concept back to its origins – to explore fundamental meanings and etymology and uncover deeper insights. While in Adobe’s context, ‘summit’ refers to a gathering, van den Elshout reveals that Ozon Studio reinterpreted it as both a metaphorical and literal ascent – ‘a journey marked by ambition, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence.’

Inspiration for the Sister logotype comes from several sources. The modulating line is inspired by diagrams found within the Manchester Code, a serial data signalling system developed in the late 1940s at The University of Manchester and first used in the Manchester Mark I computer. As well as referencing the code, it represents the porous edges of the site and the gently undulating River Medlock that runs beneath the buildings.

The ultra-tight kerning, reminiscent of The Designers Republic typography from the ’90s, and the fluid, blobby, almost liquefied letterforms suggest a transformation in progress, as if we’re catching these shapes just as they momentarily solidify after forming from the nebulous, unpredictable nature of The Aberration. The edges and corners of the letters blur and melt into each other, making the whole design feel like a fleeting glimpse into something otherworldly and ever-changing.

Aligning on composition Just like in Figma, objects can interact with other objects on the canvas, creating endless compositions. To standardize these arrangements, the team revisited their list of modalities and actions pulled from their audit of the product development process. “Ideation” is represented by freeform collage, like stickies on a FigJam canvas, “designing” relies heavily on manipulation and transformation, and “building” is represented by visual abstractions of coding, inspecting, and annotating.  Taken together, these compositional arrangements comprise four main moves:  Overlap: Shapes layer upon each other, embracing the (occasional) messiness of the Figma canvas. Reveal: A selected shape can “inspect” or expose the underlying structure of another element. Clustering: Shapes and patterns cluster together into freeform compositions.
